Steroids In Baseball

There has been a lot of controversy about steroids in baseball. Does it enhance performance and what are the side effects. Are records today the result of steroids, and are athletes harming themselves.

Steroids are a synthetic version of males hormone testosterone. Testosterone boost muscle development and growth so when steroids is added to it muscle mass increases, body fat is reduced, and endurance is enhanced. Athletes use steroids to become better athletes and have an edge on their competition. It does work, but the effects of it are livers develop tumors, blood pressure gets higher, and fluid intake increases, may cause acne, and changes the persons attitude (roid rage). Steroids are bigger in baseball than any other sport because in baseball its mostly about power. Players need power to hit home runs and some players don't have the natural ability to hit the ball out the park so this is where steroids come into play to give them that extra boost and power to hit the ball further. There is steroid testing in baseball, but its not a strict policy because players are allowed to test positive five times before a disciplinary action takes place. I feel as though the testing policy should be stricter if the league wants to slow down the use of steroids. I also believe that some of the records today are the result of steroid use. More players are coming out and confessing their use of steroids.
